Ahead of International Women’s Day on 8th March, we’ve been out meeting the incredible women running small businesses at the Enterprise Centre East Northants.
Spotlight: Kadie Forge, Founder of Oak Lane Cleaning
This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating Kadie Forge, the inspiring founder behind Oak Lane Cleaning, a thriving commercial, domestic, and holiday‑let cleaning company employing 50 people.
Kadie launched her business eight years ago to create a better work–life balance as a mum – and in doing so, she’s built a company that prides itself on quality, passion and genuine care. She loves seeing the difference a beautifully cleaned space can make, and she’s driven by the growth, commitment and pride of her team.
Kadie finds inspiration not from one woman, but from the collective strength of women everywhere – especially those in her own workforce who show up, work hard and support one another every day.
Running a business, she says, has allowed her not only to be present for her own family, but also to offer the same flexibility to the mums she employs. Her advice for women starting their own business?
Believe in yourself – but back your passion with research, realism and demand.
Her proudest achievements include winning a Silver Award for Business Woman of the Year in 2022, and this year, Oak Lane Cleaning has been named a finalist in three categories at the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards. The three categories are Employer of the Year, Business Woman of the Year and Business of the Year.
